Aftercare

Proper aftercare is vital for optimal healed results
Applies to all skin/lip procedures:

No saunas, sweating, chlorinated pools/swimming for 2 weeks.
No direct sunlight or UV rays during healing. Once healed, always use SPF.
No scented soaps or moisturizers during healing. Lightly pat dry after cleansing.
No lasers, chemical peels, cosmetic procedures on the area (even after fully healed).
No retinol, or acids (AHA, BHA, etc). It will fade it even after fully healed.
Do not allow it to stay wet.
Lightly press on the aftercare I sent home with you to prevent dry out. Do not rub in.
Do not pick or scratch.
If I put a Tegaderm bandage on you, please leave it on for 3 days, unless I tell you otherwise.
(ALL THE ABOVE PLUS ADDITIONAL FOR LIPS - avoid spicy for at least 3 days, avoid dark staining food/drinks, ex red wine, for 1 week, please drink through a straw for the first 3 days. Sorry, no kissing for 1 week).
If you notice signs of infection, please contact your doctor and your artist.
Applies to piercing procedures:
Properly clean the pierced area twice a day with a saline solution or antimicrobial soap.
Avoid touching the piercing with dirty hands. Clean hands only!
Use clean pillowcases and try not to sleep on the side of your new piercing for your own comfort.
Do not remove the jewellery until the piercing has healed completely.
Do not rotate or spin THE POST of the jewellery. Doing so opens the wound and prevents healing.
Please press or rotate the TOP of the jewellery every few days to make sure it is secure.
Cartilage piercings take longer to heal than soft tissue piercings. Keep in mind it may take 6 - 12 months for cartilage piercings to fully heal.
Contact your doctor and piercer if you notice any signs of infection.
